Mexico Surf Safari
Before creating KRISTY MURPHY’S SIREN SURF ADVENTURES, Kristy worked as head surf instructor as well as coordinated one of the first surf camps for women, held in Mexico. In her time-off, all of the instructors would hop on a bus from Puerto Vallarta to Rio Nexpa, in order to surf and explore that amazingly spectacular stretch of coastline. During those early scouting missions, over 15 years ago now, is when she discovered a perfect left-hand point break just outside of Zihuatanejo. At that time, there was one little palapa located strategically at the end of the wave, selling food. You could ride a single wave all the way from the outside peak and step off onto the beach right at that one restaurant to order lunch. She instantly fell in love.
Zihuatanejo is hands down her favorite area to surf in Mexico, so when Wildcoast, an organization dedicated to ocean and coastal conservation, asked if Siren Surf Adventures wanted to get involved with the turtle sanctuaries in the area, they quickly replied with a resounding “Yes!”

The group sizes are small, with a max of 5 guests per retreat in order to ensure an intimate experience that guarantees that you are sure to get the most time with these 2 ladies in and out of the water. V.I.P Experience
Your typical Mexico surf trip day begins with coffee, teas, fresh local and/or organic fruits along with an amazing Mexican breakfast overlooking the line-up from the patio of your ocean front villa. Then it is time for surf. Kristy and Cat always try to utilize the best tides and conditions so exact surf times vary from day-to-day, but don’t worry, you will receive at least 2 hours in the morning possibly more, of surf coaching in the water during the day. Depending on the wind, a sunset surf session is always a possibility. The learning doesn’t end once dry however as your coaches discuss turning technique, cross-stepping and nose-riding, fins, boards, as well as provide video analysis. You will receive 1 massage and may also visit the natural hot springs nearby or take a road trip to a neighboring town to do some local shopping. Your dinners will consist of Mexican specialties prepared by the in-house chef and all of the food is either local, non-gmo, and/or organic. At night you can either enjoy a movie theater under the stars to watch surf flicks or sit on the beach for an old-school beach fire all the whilst sipping on Kristy’s famous margaritas!

Supporting the Community & Environment
We believe strongly in supporting our local communities and causes that are close to our hearts. These are the places we call home and we want to have a positive relationship with our neighbors and the environment.
The Azulita ProjectKristy and Cat are proud to work with and support the Azulita Project as they have been an integral part of cleaning up the beaches and villages where they love to surf in Mexico. The Azulita Project has built and sustains a plastic recycling center which recycles over 10 tons of plastic each month and also provides environmental youth programs within the local schools to teach about conservation and organic farming. Co-founder of the Azulita Project and legendary folk hero artist Pato, has made it his passion to educate farmers throughout Mexico, about how to make organic composts, fertilizers, and pesticides. He created the Siren Surf Adventures logo and hand prints all our hats and shirts. By supporting his art we are able to be apart of funding this project that is so important to this area. For more information or to make a donation check out to the Azulita Project at www.azulitaproject.org. All proceeds from soft goods sold goes directly to Pato in order for him to continue his work.
